Baked Ziti with Ground turkery/beef

  A very delicious, cheesy baked ziti. Easy to make!
Ingredients:
  1 LBS   Lean ground beef or turkey
  1/2 Cup   chopped onion
  1   Green bell pepper, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
  1 Can (14.5 oz)   diced tomatoes, undrained
  1 Can (8 oz)   tomato sauce
  1/2 TSP   dried basil, crumbled
  1/2 TSP   dried leaf oregano, crumbled
  1/2 TSP   garlic powder
  1 1/2 TSP   salt
  1/4 TSP   pepper
  8 OZ   Zitiz or elbow macaroni
  2 Cups   shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
Directions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

2. Prepare ziti or macaroni (follow directions on package)

3. Saute ground beef/turkey, onion, and green bell pepper in a large skillet until onion is tender and beef is lightly browned.

4. Drain off excess fat; add tomatoes, tomato sauce, basil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; Stir well

5. Stir in ziti and 1 cup of the cheese; transfer to a 2 1/2 quart casserole dish.

6. Top with the remaining cup of cheese

7. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes, or until hot and bubbly.
