Olive Garden Breadsticks

  This makes 16 breadsticks.
Ingredients:
  2 tsp.   yeast
  1/3 c.   warm water
  2 tsp.   salt
  1 c.   warm water
  2 tbsp.   sugar
  4 tsp.   soft butter + more for spreading
  4 c.   flour
    garlic powder, to taste
    salt, to taste
Directions:
  Pour 1/3 cup warm water into a glass and mix 1 tbsp. sugar into it until dissolved. Add yeast and stir in lightly. In stand-alone mixer, mix salt, additional warm water, additional sugar, butter and most of flour with bread hook. Add more flour if necessary to form a dough that you can easily roll it between your hands. Roll dough into a large log and separate into 16 pieces. Roll each piece into a cigar shape and place on baking pan. Cover and let rise for 45 minutes. Preheat oven to 400 and brush each breadstick with butter. Bake for 15 minutes or until light golden brown. Brush with butter twice and sprinkle with salt and garlic powder to taste.
