sausage patty

  Sausage Patty
Ingredients:
  2 lb   ground beef
  1   small onion finely chopped
  1   small pepper finely chopped
  1   egg lightly whisked
    spice mix to taste*
    white pepper to taste
    canola spray or olive oil (a minimum)
Directions:
  Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl and form into patties. Cook on a medium heat for 10-15 minutes until evenly browned. Serve with grilled tomatoes/mushrooms/spinach

Makes 8-10 patties which can be frozen for later use.

*spice mixes

Mediterranean: 1 tsp each of thyme, sage, marjoram and tarragon

Italian:1 tsp each of thyme, rosemary, parsley and oregano

Thai: 1 inch lemongrass finely chopped, 1 tbs lime juice, zest of 1 lime, 1 clove garlic finely chopped, small pice of fresh ginger finely chopped, 1/2 tsp cumin and coriander
