Simple Lasagna

  This Lasagna is for the "Lasagna Challenged" Group of us that don't make lasagna that often because it seems so complicated!

STEP 1: While the Lasagna noodles are cooking, brown the ground beef with the chopped onions. During the browning, add garlic salt, oregano and basil. When almost finished, add the pepperoni and garlic and cook for a few additional minutes.









STEP 2 of Lasagna assembly:

Preheat oven 350 degrees.

Spread about 1 1/2 cups of sauce on bottom of lasagna pan. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top of sauce.


Step 3 of Lasagna assembly:

Layer 4 strips of Lasagna noodles on top of the sauce & cheese layer. Slightly overlap the edges.

Step 4 of Lasagna assembly:

Using 1/2 of the seasoned meat mixture, spread evenly over the noodle layer.

Step 5 of Lasagna assembly:
Spread 1/2 of the Ricotta cheese mixture over the seasoned meat. Lightly salt & pepper this layer.

Step 6 of Lasagna assembly: (starting new layer)
Spread 2 cups of sauce over Ricotta cheese Mixture. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and 1 cup of shredded cheese.

Step 7 of Lasagna assembly:

Add another layer of 4 noodles on top of sauce & cheese.

Step 8 of Lasagna assembly:

Add another layer of seasoned meat.



Step 9 of Lasagna assembly:

Repeat the Ricotta layer using the rest of the Ricotta cheese. Lightly salt & pepper.

Step 10 of Lasagna assembly:
Spread 2 cups of sauce over Ricotta cheese Mixture. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and 1/2 cup of shredded cheese.

Step 11 of Lasagna assembly:
Add final layer of 4 noodles. Top with can of tomato sauce. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and rest of shredded cheese.

Cover Lasagna with foil and bake for 35 minutes covered. Uncover and bake for additional 10 minutes.

  12   Cooked Lasagna Noodles
  1.50 lbs   Ground Meat
  1/4 lb   pepperoni, chopped
  1   medium onion, chopped
  2 tsp   minced garlic
  1 tsp   basil
  1 tsp   oregano
  1 tsp   garlic salt
  1   2lb 13oz Jar Pasta SAuce
  1 can   8oz. tomato sauce
  1   Ricotta Cheese (24 oz)
  2 cups   Shredded Pizza Cheese (provolone and parmesan)
