Grilled Steak with Grilled Tomato Relish (JP)

  grilled steak with grilled tomato relish
Ingredients:
  2 6 oz   sirloin steaks
  2 each   pear shaped tomatoes, halfed lengthwise
  2 Tbsp   extra virgin olive oil
  1 each   medium onion, chopped
  1 clove   garlic, minced or pressed
  1/4 c   fresh basil or 2 Tbsp dry basil
  1 pinch   salt
  1 pinch   fresh ground pepper
Directions:
  Grill steaks. Place tomatoes on grill, cut sides up, and brush them lightly with 1 tbsp of the oil. When tomatoes are browned on bottom (about 3 min) turn them over and continue to cook until soft when pressed (about 3 min). Combine the remaining 1 tbsp of oil, onion & garlic and cook in frying pan until onion is limp and golden (about 10 min). Stir in basil. Stir grilled tomatoes into onion mixture, cover and keep warm. Spoon tomato relish on steaks and season.
